Since the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, speedskating has proven to be a favorite winter olympic sport right up there with hockey, bobsledding, figure skating, you name it! Although speedskating is not new to the ice, America has recently realized the true beauty of this sport. The intensity and pure thrill of it is enjoyed not only by the skater, but also by those viewing it. As speedskating fans, we wanted to give back to the athletes for the enjoyment and inspiration given to us by them and everyone that has made it possible for them to compete. We believe it is important to support the skaters on and off the ice, as well as the causes they believe in. What better way than to make a donation in their name? Even though this is a small price we pay for our gratitude, a little step can go a long way. We encourage all of you to help us to show how we can work together as a team for a common goal, even if it's not the gold medal.
